Thank you Shiraishi-sensei, all the senpais and the finnish Bujinkan-community for all the time, effort and dedication to make this into such a great and well planned event. What a whirlwind of a weekend! Now that I am on a flight back to Tokyo with Sensei and able to collect my thoughts, I want to take the time to thank the entire Taikai team for their effort in putting together such a fantastic and well organized event. It was amazing to see members of five different dōjō working together and sacrificing their time and energy so that participants could have the best experience possible. Numerous times throughout the weekend, I had many participants, many of whom had been attending Taikai around the world and throughout Europe as far back as 1984, tell me that it was the most well organized event they had ever been to. I also know that the team was asked multiple times to share how they managed to put the Taikai together and execute it so flawlessly, so I think that speaks volumes about the effort that was put in. I was told that when something needed to be done, or there were spots to fill, people quickly offered and those jobs filled up quickly, and I think that level of sacrifice for the enjoyment of all in attendance was obvious to everyone. Sensei, the other teachers/uke, and myself were also very well taken care of. The team really went out of there way to make sure everything was as easy as possible for us so that we could focus on what we needed to do.

Some personal highlights for me from the Taikai were that the atmosphere was such that people of all ranks were genuinely trying to learn what was being shown and no one was afraid of being seen making mistakes. Everyone had smiles on their faces while asking for help without any hesitation. We were also happy to hear how pleased everyone was that not only Sensei but four other long-time students of his were going around helping everyone get the feeling and offering advice. Sensei was adamant about everyone having the feeling of what he was trying to transmit, and in that regard, it seems we achieved that goal.

Lastly, I want to thank all the participants (from 14 different countries, including ones on other continents) who helps create such an enjoyable atmosphere and who conducted themselves in a way that was befitting of students of budō. Even the staff at the restaurant for Saturday night's dinner commented on how warm and polite everyone in attendance was when we went to thank them after everyone had gone home for the night. In that way, it seems the energy from the venue carried over wherever people went while in Helsinki. It really was a pleasure having each and every one of you, and getting to meet many new friends along with seeing old ones again after some time.

Best wishes to everyone as you return home and take back the lessons of the weekend that Sensei graciously imparted upon us. Until we meet again, in Japan or elsewhere!

Thank you for having so many members at the event and helping to make it a great experience for us as well!

The last training of the Shiraishi Taikai is over and it was a wonderful and well planned event. A huge thanks to Shiraishi-sensei and his students for sharing their knowledge. And also, a really big thank you to the Finnish Bujinkan-community for organizing it and making it possible. For many of our members, it was the first time they got to meet and train for Sensei.
